Fed 2 with Industar-50 and Jupiter-12

The Fed-2 is one of the best products of the Soviet camera industry. Different versions of this camera were produced from 1956 till 1970, I believe this particular version is a Fed-2 type D-4 (early to mid 1960's). Most commonly these cameras were sold with and Industar-26 50mm lens. Pictured here with a Jupiter-12 35mm lens and accessory viewfinder. The viewfinder is worth about 3 times as much as the camera itself.

The great thing about the Fed-2 is it's size, it's not much bigger than the earlier Fed-1 or a screwmount Leica, and will easily fit into a pocket, especially if you combine it with a collapsible 50mm lens. The other great thing about this camera is the powerful adjustable diopter. I have really bad eyesight, but with the adjustable diopter on this camera I can see through the viewfinder without glasses just as well as when I'm wearing them. I have yet to find any other camera, including modern DSLRs that I can see through so well through without glasses.

I went to the Ghost and Goblins 5k in downtown Dayton, they had over 3500 runners registered. The great thing about the Jupiter-12 lens is the great depth of field, I just stopped down to F/11, and shoot without bothering to focus. Plus it's easier to use the accessory 35mm viewfinder to compose rather than the small built in finder anyway.

The rest of these were actually shot a few months earlier back when we were still living in Oklahoma, I just for some reason never got around to finishing the roll. These were taken at the Norman Medieval festival.

I think this was the only guy at this so-called medieval festival who was actually doing anything that was somewhat historically accurate. Most people seemed to be dressed as fairies and wizards. I was very glad it was a free event, and I didn't waste any money here.
