The Kiev IIa is a Soviet copy of the pre-war German Contax II. My copy was produced in 1957, one of the last production years for this version. The later Kiev rangefinders, while physically very similar, tend to be of much lower quality that is typical of the Former Soviet Union cameras. My copy however works perfectly. Pictured here with the standard Jupiter-8 50mm lens.
All of these pictures were taken on the University of Oklahoma campus, shot on Kodak T400CN.
