The Minolta SrT101 remained in production for about a decade, being manufactured from the around 1966-1975 . I suppose Minolta found that there was little improvement needed in the 101 series cameras. As far as I can tell my example is considered one of the '2nd generation' 101s from the early 70s. This is yet another solid, dependable, and all manual camera from the time when Japanese SLRs were really hammering the European camera industry.
I picked this up at a recent camera show for just a few bucks. The light meter doesn't work but I really don't need one. I find I'm getting better at guessing the exposure in different lighting conditions. The lens isn't original, it's a more recent Minolta lens from the 1980's. I was planning on buying one of the original lenses that came with the camera but I discovered that they sell for surprisingly high prices for standard lenses.
I shot this roll at the 2011 Montgomery County Fair here in Dayton. The odd thing about this fair is that the main parking lot is in the middle of race track. So to get in and out you have to wait for the horses to pass before you can move on.

This pig is smiling because he knows that as soon as I'm done snapping the picture he's going to suddenly stretch out through the bars and lick the lens. This is how I know that pig saliva is surprisingly difficult to clean off.

It was a pretty warm evening, this goat certainly had the right idea.
