Here we have the world famous Sitacon camera! Apparently it's key feature is that the lens is designed for taking pictures in color. I saw a craigslist post advertising a yard sale that included over 50 vintage cameras. It turned out that the "collection" only consisted of 35mm point and shoots from the 90's, which was a bit of a disappointment. I didn't want this camera, but there was a box of odds and ends including light-meters, a few filters and some flash bulbs with a sign saying I could choose one item for free with the purchase of a camera. They wouldn't sell me anything in the free box, so I bought three cameras for $5. I think they just wanted to get rid of their useless cameras.
So I decided I might as well try out the Sitacon to see how it performs.cheap cameraclassic camerapoint and shootscale focustoy camera
I tried using the Sitacon camera for a little wildlife photography. I saw this blue-jay sitting on a branch and knew I just had to get a photo of him. It's an "ok" picture I guess, but the highlights were blown out completely. I don't know if that was a result of poor optical design or the lack of exposure control, but at least you can see the general silhouette of the bird and a few details, so it isn't all bad.
